Last summer, the opportunity came up for me to work on a book with a wonderful former Navy aviator. I learned all about how pilots develop and utilize flight plans to fly routine flights and life saving missions. It was a fascinating experience to parallel flight planning to how individuals can plan more effectively for success in everyday life and business endeavors. The result was a wonderful book, Flight Plan to Success written by JT DeBolt published by Aloha Publishing. JT is a first time author who currently lives in Eagle, Idaho and runs the company Mach One Strategies.

Planning in this manner will save you money, your sanity and a great deal of success. It’s something every man, women, student and businessperson should consider learning. Besides, we really need to be aware of supporting our former military personnel as they transition back into the jobs they gave up to give us freedom.

Beginning January 20, I am co-coaching a workshop with JT using the Flight Plan principles. Register for Coach Yourself to More Time, Money and Fun in 2011.

I love books. Books move people to their potential through their stories and ideas they share. Books leave records that we wouldn’t have otherwise.

It used to be nearly out of reach to get a book published. Only one in 14000 could. That was before. Now it’s possible for anyone who can write anything to publish. The issue becomes can you publish a quality product that will be meaningful and have a positive reflection on your life and even your business.

Idaho has needed a place where writers and authors could be encouraged. They need to find out that publishing their ideas in a quality way is not scary or daunting. There is not 100 hoops to jump through. Recently, my assistant Kelly and I help take an author from blank page to a complete finished book including the author doing all the writing himself in just over 70 days.

I have long wanted to create a quality environment to showcase the work of Idaho authors and to give potential authors the resources to find quality editors, cover designs and to help them through the publishing process. This summer, Kelly Antonczak (a 21 year old Boise State University student) started the work to develop the Idaho Book Extravaganza to be held October 22, 23 2010 just eight minutes outside of Boise at Silverstone Plaza. Check us out at IdahoBookExtravaganza.com

Come see me at Aloha Publishing booth. I want to see your ideas and I want you to understand the publishing process as it now exists.

What book do you have inside? What are you doing with your God given talent.

Daily focus time is the difference between loving your life and work style vs. being overwhelmed and overstressed.

Daily focus time is time spend daily focused specifically on revenue related work and projects with lasting, life long value. So many people spend every minute of their day going on urgent requests, phone calls, emails that they never get the time or energy to do the things they love as part of their work.

Focus time is one of the things many, many companies are implementing to increase overall productivity.

It’s a time each day or for many people, once in the morning and once in the afternoon where you unplug from your technology, shut the office door if possible and spend getting momentum on the project that really matter.

So how do you decide what really matters. Ask yourself a couple of questions…What will be the result of what I do in the next 60 minutes? Will it allow me to make increase revenue so I can spend time in other areas of my work without being stressed about my results? Will what I am doing have impact beyond today such as writing a book, creating a website or building a relationship with a highly productive customer or client. You can even take dedicated time with your child, a friend or spouse that will have long lasting benefits.

Try focusing on the important 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes in the afternoon. Set a timer or have some type of way to measure your time. Increase your time as you experience the benefits of focus time.

Coaching is a amazing line of work because people change their lives for the better. Each and every day I see them run more successful businesses and take steps to spend less time at work and enjoy what they do. My clients design their time to focus on family members, friends and causes they value. Coaching allows me to be in the early stages of the formation of companies and non profit organizations and to see the small seed of an idea come to reality. It allows me to see people make money doing what they love and believe in

You might question this and ask are these amazing things really happening.

Coaching allows people to:

Get clear on what is most important to them and begin acting on it.

Understand the necessary steps to reorganize their products and services to make more money.

See vacations, time off and volunteer time as valuable assets in their life.

Stop just talking about things and taking daily action on what you believe is important.

Get an important wake up call to close the gap from where they are to where they want to be.

Yes, seeing people see that focus accelerates triumph is why I love coaching.
