About Maryanna
Background
There is nothing typical about the career path or life experiences of Maryanna Young.
Her professional experience includes business owner, sports agent, CEO for several different companies, non profit executive director, motivational speaker, author, youth advocate and professional business coach. Maryanna created one of the country’s largest women’s sporting events, represented world-class athletes and companies, and then launched a thriving coaching practice while writing books and helping teenagers and young adults turn the challenges in their past into opportunities for the future.
Innovator
Maryanna was a frontrunner in the movement to improve opportunities and resources for women and girls in sports. She was one of the first female sports agents in Olympic and Paralympic sports. Her ability to bring together the resources of major corporations like United Airlines, Ocean Spray, General Motors and Bank of America led to development of professional partnerships which exist to this day.
In 1993, Maryanna developed and co-founded the Idaho Women’s Fitness Celebration and served as Executive Director from 1993 – 1999. The annual 5K event has since grown to become the largest women’s sporting events in the United States.
Credentialed Executive Coach
Maryanna’s client list is filled with top achievers from a range of industries and major corporations such as Nike, Asics, Key Corp and Royal Caribbean. As a former CEO herself, she is a skilled coach and negotiator at the highest levels of international business and performance, and has worked with media giants ESPN, NBC, CBS, and ABC.
Maryanna was named outstanding student athlete in her graduating class from ORU in Tulsa, Oklahoma where she received a Bachelor of Science degree. Her coaching credentials are from Coach University in Steamboat Springs, CO.
Performance Athlete
A life long athlete, Maryanna competed at a national level in basketball, distance running and as a member of the USA Korfball team. She was an all state basketball player from Boise High School and Cross Country/Track athlete at Oral Roberts University where she was named Outstanding Student Athlete of her graduating class.
Publisher and Author
Maryanna has authored four books: Don’t Miss Your Boat, Your Exceptional Life Begins Now, Blank to Book: From Idea to Amazon in 150 Days, and Significance Breakthrough. Having experienced the professional results and personal fulfillment writing a book can bring, Maryanna has assisted more than 110 clients through the book publishing process. She is founder and CEO of Aloha Publishing.
